Dr. Stein is a New York State Licensed Psychologist, Board Certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University in 1989. Dr. Stein is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and is credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. Dr. Stein specializes in the application of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to mood and anxiety disorders, health and rehabilitation psychology, and many other intra/interpersonal difficulties. She has written several articles and book chapters on the practice of health psychology and more recently on the health care system. She is also a Clinical Screening and Assessment Provider for the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).
Dr. Smoller is a New York State Licensed Clinical Psychologist who received his Ph.D. from St. John's University in 1991. Dr. Smoller is a staff member of the Westchester Medical Center. He specializes in pediatric and adult psychological, neuropsychological, and educational assessments. Following learning disability evaluations, he interfaces with the school system to format the most efficacious learning approach for each individual student. In addition, Dr. Smoller performs forensic evaluations, pre-surgical screenings (bariatric, neurospinal stimulator placement, amputation) and New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services' (OASAS) Clinical Screenings and Assessments for the Impaired Driving Offenders. Dr. Smoller offers counseling services for patients with disabilities and chronic health conditions. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA), and the Association for the Advancement of Psychology.
Dr. McKee is a New York State Licensed Psychologist. She earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Fordham University in 2000. Dr. McKee is certified in DBT and has extensive experience training doctoral students in DBT, as well as providing this therapy to seriously mentally ill inpatients and outpatients individually and in groups. In 2007, she became a certified Circle of Life Wellness Coach and utilizes this approach to promote life satisfaction and wellness. Dr. McKee has published a book chapter on anxiety disorders in women and articles on factors/coping styles associated with resilience in life-threatening illness. Dr. McKee's primary therapeutic approach is Solution Focused and she is trained and experienced in Cognitive Behavioral and Cognitive Processing Therapies. These treatment approaches are helpful with anxiety and mood disorders, PTSD and other trauma symptoms, as well as relationship difficulties. Dr. McKee believes that self-care is vital in this stressful world and teaches individuals methods of relaxation, meditation, and mindfulness for stress management and overall mind-body health. Dr. McKee also emphasizes the importance of positive thinking, optimism, and gratitude in promoting improved health. She enjoys working with older teenagers, adults, couples, and families and helping them achieve their personal goals.
Annie Hennessey is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Most of her experience is with persons involved in the criminal justice system, child welfare system including abuse and neglect, as well as Family Court. Her preferred treatment approaches follow mindfulness, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral theories. Annie has experience working with serious and persistently mentally ill individuals, as well as those with situational or chronic depression and anxiety, traumatic brain injury (TBI), grief, medical illness, and disability. As a novice runner, Annie has a strong appreciation for the mind-body connection, as well as the impact that injury and inability to participate in sport can have on mental health. She has extensive training regarding suicide prevention including Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). Annie is also a Clinical Screening and Assessment Provider for the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and the New York Council on Problem Gambling (NYCPG).
Laura Brundage has been a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1991. She graduated from Wurzweiler School of Social Work in New York City and speaks Spanish as a second language. She has extensive experience helping improve the lives of children and families through mental health treatment. Laura emphasizes strength-based, solution oriented interventions and incorporates mindfulness, cognitive behavioral theories and supportive psycho-therapeutic interventions to tailor a plan that works toward meeting your goals. Her practice focuses on young children through adults and addresses stress management, marital issues, parenting, anxiety, ADHD and developmental concerns.
Dr. Susan Johansson earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Grand Canyon University and her Masters degree in Community and Counseling Psychology from Marist College. She is a New York State Certified School Psychologist with a special certification in School Neuropsychology. Dr. Johansson has extensive experience working with the learning and emotional difficulties of adolescent students. In addition, she has experience in counseling adolescents and adults with anxiety and reactive depression due to stressors in their life circumstances. Dr. Johansson has worked extensively with all types of patients including those with traumatic brain injuries of all ages in an evaluative and counseling capacity. Her approach to counseling encompasses cognitive behavioral methods that consider the whole person in relation to their biological, intrapersonal, and social functioning.
Mary Robinson is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience helping adult individuals and couples transform problems into opportunities for growth and fulfillment. She specializes in treating issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, gender identity, loss, and relationships. Mary’s approach to therapy builds on client strengths and addresses the whole person – mind, body and spirit. She is trained in a range of therapeutic models and relies primarily on cognitive behavioral principles, DBT, solution-focused therapy, Gottman couples therapy, experiential techniques, and evidenced-based mind-body practices for stress reduction, such as meditation, guided visualization, and breathing practices.
Kim Ale is a New York State Certified School Counselor. She holds a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Russell Sage Graduate School and a Bachelor of Art degree in Social Work from Empire State College. Her experience of over 16 years includes 6 plus years in a private high school and over 10 years in a local public high school. She is a member of the Dutchess County Counseling Association and attends college fairs and meets regularly with admissions counselors from schools all over the country. She enjoys working with students of all ages and has a passion to help each individual find their own unique journey.
